Aluminium alloy lampshade parts Industry knowledge

What is the specific production process of Aluminum Alloy Lampshade Parts?

1. Selection of aluminum alloy materials
The selection of aluminum alloy is the first and most important step in manufacturing lampshade parts. According to the use environment, design requirements and cost considerations of the lampshade, the appropriate aluminum alloy grade should be selected. For lampshade parts, aluminum alloys with high strength, good toughness and low thermal expansion coefficient are the first choice. Some specific aluminum alloy grades are often used to manufacture lampshade parts with complex shapes due to their good casting and mechanical properties.

2. Heat treatment
In order to improve the mechanical properties and processing properties of aluminum alloys, the raw materials need to be heat treated. The heat treatment mainly includes two steps: solution treatment and aging treatment. Solution treatment heats the aluminum alloy to a certain temperature and keeps it warm for a period of time, so that the solute elements in the alloy are fully dissolved in the matrix to form a uniform solid solution. The subsequent aging treatment is to keep it warm for a period of time at a lower temperature, so that the solute elements in the solid solution are precipitated as a fine dispersed second phase, thereby improving the strength and hardness of the alloy.

3. Processing process
According to the design drawings and size requirements of the lampshade parts, the blank is cut from the heat-treated aluminum alloy sheet. This step is usually carried out using a sawing tool. It is necessary to keep the saw blade sharp and control the cutting speed and depth to ensure the dimensional accuracy and surface quality of the blank. The main purpose of rough machining is to remove excess material from the blank and form the basic shape of the workpiece. This stage includes milling, turning and drilling.
Milling: Use a milling machine to mill the blank, remove unnecessary parts, and preliminarily form the outer contour of the lampshade parts.
Turning: For parts that require cylindrical or conical surfaces, use a lathe for turning to achieve the required size and shape accuracy.
Drilling: According to the hole requirements on the design drawings, use a drilling machine to drill holes in the blank. This step requires controlling the size, drilling speed and feed rate of the drill bit to ensure the size and position accuracy of the hole.
Semi-finishing is to further improve the dimensional accuracy and surface quality of the workpiece on the basis of rough machining. This stage mainly includes processes such as grinding and electrical discharge machining (EDM).
Grinding: Use a grinder to grind the surface of the workpiece to remove the marks and burrs left by rough machining, and improve the surface finish and flatness.
EDM: For parts with complex shapes, small apertures or difficult to process by conventional methods, electrospark machining technology is used. EDM uses the local high temperature generated by electric spark discharge to melt or vaporize materials to achieve precision machining.
Finishing is the last key process in the manufacture of lampshade parts, aiming to further improve the surface quality and dimensional accuracy of the workpiece. This stage includes processes such as honing, polishing and cleaning.
Honing: Use a honing machine to remove tiny burrs and uneven parts on the surface of the workpiece to improve the smoothness and fineness of the surface.
Polishing: Use a polishing machine to polish the surface of the workpiece to achieve a mirror finish. Appropriate polishing paste and polishing cloth need to be used during the polishing process to ensure the polishing effect.
Cleaning: The last step is to clean the contaminants such as coolant, cutting fluid and polishing paste remaining on the surface of the workpiece. Ultrasonic cleaning or chemical cleaning methods are usually used to ensure the cleanliness of the workpiece surface.

4. Surface treatment
Surface treatment is an important means to improve the appearance quality and corrosion resistance of aluminum alloy lampshade parts. Common surface treatment methods include anodizing, spraying and electroplating.
Anodizing: A dense oxide film is formed on the surface of aluminum alloy by electrochemical method. This oxide film is not only beautiful but also has strong corrosion resistance, which can protect the aluminum alloy substrate from erosion by the external environment.
Spraying: Spray one or more layers of paint on the surface of aluminum alloy to change its appearance color, increase gloss and improve corrosion resistance. Before spraying, the surface of the workpiece needs to be pretreated, such as degreasing, rust removal and phosphating.
Electroplating: A layer of metal (such as nickel, chromium, etc.) is plated on the surface of aluminum alloy to improve its corrosion resistance, wear resistance and decorativeness. The electroplating process requires strict control of parameters such as plating solution composition, temperature, current density, etc. to ensure the quality and thickness of the coating.

5. Quality inspection and packaging
In the final stage of the manufacturing process, strict quality inspection of aluminum alloy lampshade parts is required. This includes using instruments such as coordinate measuring machines and surface roughness testers to test the dimensional accuracy, shape accuracy and surface quality of the workpiece. Visual inspection is also required to ensure that the workpiece has no defects such as cracks and pores.
